The Middle Ages was a time in history where everyone was faithful to religion as well as others. Also, in the Middle Ages, people were encouraged to always try their best; they were encouraged to strive for the highest achievement possible and to never give up. The Renaissance, however, was more focused on becoming matured and finding a way to be successful at everything one does. During this era, people strived to become all-sided men, also known as; renaissance men. This means they are not only successful in one type of art but in all types of art, as well as math, science, and literature. The Renaissance was a distinct period in time that was separated from the Middle Ages and began a new era. The Middle Ages was a time where people were more conserved with education and did not have the curiosities that fell upon those in the Renaissance. Curiosity of the human body and deeper knowledge about art and literature became two popular areas throughout the Renaissance. Leonardo daVinci drew beautiful pieces of art that depicted the natural and realistic human body and it’s internal muscle and bone structures. The drawings of the human body by daVinci, show that he was not afraid to go the distance and have no limits as to how far he will push himself to understand the human body (Document 6). Leonardo was a true Renaissance man. In addition, another evidential person who leads a reader towards making the inference that the Renaissance is a separate era from the Middle Ages, is Johannes Kepler. Johannes Kepler was an astronomer from Germany that made an observation about people in the Middle Ages that tend to follow and agree with everything the priests say. In the film Prison State, the focus was on the juveniles in the state of Kentucky, specifically individuals living in the Beecher Terrace neighborhood. Beecher Terrace is a low-income area that the majority of detainees lived in. Because individuals grew up in poverty they were predisposed to other risk factors that increased their likelihood of becoming a juvenile delinquent and an adult offender later on in life. Two major issues in the state of Kentucky were the over-crowdedness in the prisons and the high cost to incarcerate individuals. The cost to incarcerate a child was $87,000 a year for non-violent offenses. Most juveniles ended up arrested and in juvenile detention centers because of habitual truancy and disregard for parental authority. This film went on to discuss ways to reduce incarceration cost and address the reason why the youth from Beecher Terrace seemed destined to go prison. Three correlates of criminality in the film were: poverty, mental health status, and family circumstances. The neighborhood, Beecher Terrace was the low-income area where most of the prisoners and juveniles delinquents came from. Neighborhoods like the one in film are the stereotypical type of areas where people in poverty live. The neighborhoods contain large populations of low income residents. It is clear that the companies involved in production for local consumers are not able to supply enough to the market. The government has reservations that if the shortage continues then many businesses in Australia will be impacted adversely by high costs of production. In response to this crisis, the government has introduced a short-term regulation restricting the exportation of gas. The Directive, Australian Domestic Gas Security Mechanism, announced by the prime minister is intended to ensure that the domestic demand for gas is met before supplying to the outside community(Kimmorley 2017). This policy will come into effect on July 1st, 2017 where gas producers will function under tighter limitations on exports to guarantee that Australian households and businesses have sufficient supply of gas. Economic Analysis Demand and Supply of Liquefied Natural Gas The demand for Liquefied Natural Gas in Australia comes from both the households and the business community. The demand for this resource has since increased while the companies involved in the production for domestic consumption have not increased the supply to the market.
